(ABO) On the morning of January 26, Director of the Tien Giang Province Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board (referred to as the Project Management Board) Tran Minh Trung came to inspect the construction of the girder support of spans 5 and 6 to close Tan Phong bridge.
According to the Project Management Board, Tan Phong Bridge has a total investment of more than 239 billion VND; of which, the construction cost is more than 137 billion VND. According to the design, the main bridge has a length of more than 359 m, including 9 spans. The bridge is 9 m wide, with a vertical clearance of 7 m and a horizontal clearance of 30 m.
Design load HL93. The total length of the road leading to the bridge is over 1,400 m; axle design load is 10 tons. Road surface width is 7 m, roadbed width is 9 m. The section adjacent to the bridge abutment has a widened road surface width of 8 m, roadbed width is 9 m, equal to the width of the bridge.

The project is constructed by a joint venture of Thien Thuan Construction Trading Company Limited and 525 Construction Joint Stock Company. The project’s groundbreaking ceremony will be held in April 2024. According to the plan, the construction period of the project is within 12 months.
According to the Project Management Board, the construction progress of the project has reached about 80% so far. According to the schedule, the project is expected to be completed in March 2025, and is registered as a project to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 – April 30, 2025).
During the inspection, comrade Tran Minh Trung requested the contractors to try to complete the girder installation of Tan Phong Bridge on January 26. During the construction process, labor safety and traffic safety must be ensured. During the Tet holiday, contractors must erect barriers to prevent people from walking across the bridge.
